Midnight Music is a daily post of a song that happens at midnight. It couldn’t be simpler. Today’s song is:
I’ve spoken about Regina Spektor before, but I never really rave about her. It’s weird as I think she’s amazing, and she’s also the person I have the most music by. Over 1000 individual mp3s. Mostly this is because, as well as all her albums, I’ve also acquired a LOT of her live stuff. Full shows from loads of venues. So, whilst I have the same songs a few times, they’re all different performances. I have more of her than I do of Madonna, Michael Jackson etc. Artists with far bigger bodies of work. She’s incredible though, so why I don’t talk about her much is beyond me. Most know her for “Us” or the song that’s the theme to “Orange Is The New Black”, but my fave is probably “Samson”. So here it is, for her MM debut.
Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
He ate a slice of wonder bread, and went right back to bed
And history books forgot about us and the Bible didn’t mention us
And the Bible didn’t mention us, not even once
