That early 2000s sound. Bands like Sum 41, The Academy Is, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco etc. For me, they kinda summed up 2000 – 2005. But not only that ilk, also the more nu-metal sound as well. Here’s a few of my faves!

To a lesser extent, but still one of my fave songs of the era, KoЯn’s amazing ‘Here To Stay’. That’s right, I can do backwards Rs. I still love this. (The mic stand he uses in this video is designed by H R Giger, the dude that designed Alien!)

And whilst we’re on about KoЯn, we can’t not mention the video for their 1998 release ‘Freak On A Leash’. A truly pioneering video at the time. The image of that room with all the bullet holes is still one of the defining sights of the time.
