Lyrical Deconstruction. Eric Carmen.

I was bored. I took a moment to ponder the other side of the following conversation.

“Oh, hey, Eric. You alright? You look a little troubled?!”

“I’ve been meaning to tell you.”

“Ok, go ahead.”

“I’ve got this feelin’ that won’t subside.”

“Have you seen a doctor?”

“I look at you and I fantasize”

“Erm. Ok?”

“You’re mine and tonight”

“I’m really not, Eric. I DO NOT consent!”

“Now I’ve got you in my sights”

“Well, stop it. I’m not interested.”

“With these hungry eyes”

“You really don’t seem to be listening to me.”

“One look at you and I can’t disguise I’ve got hungry eyes”

“Eric? Hello?” *waves hand*

“I feel the magic between you and I”

“There is literally NO magic.”

“I want to hold you so hear me out”

“I’ve heard you out so far… stop touching me.”

“I want to show you what love’s all about”

“Oh, I’m familiar, Eric. Actually get off me!”

“Darling tonight”

“I’m busy tonight, but that’s besides the point. Also don’t call me Darling and put me down right now!”

“Now I’ve got you in my sights, With these hungry eyes”

“Have you considered the fact you might actually just be hungry.”

“One look at you and I can’t disguise I’ve got hungry eyes”

“EAT SOMETHING!”

“I feel the magic between you and I’ve got hungry eyes”

“What the hell is that?!”

“Now I’ve got you in my sights With these hungry eyes”

“Where did you get a saxophone from?!”

“Now did I take you by surprise”

“Just a fucking bit, Eric. Put the saxophone down!”

“I need you to see…”

“I know what you’re about to do, Eric. Don’t!”

“This love was meant to be”

*Saxophone solo*

“Nooooooo!”
